Stop The Hunting Of The McNeil River Bears!

"This picture says it all! Even innocent creatures have more sense than most of todays blind hunters "

I Feel Sorry For Hunters That Hunt These Bears
"This isn't fair chase or even a challenge. Rather this is about a frail bored ego trying to be filled with some past Neanderthal urge to become a man in today's easy life style. These particular brown bears sometimes come so close to real wildlife photographers that it becomes necessary to use wide angle lenses to encompass the whole image. Tell me why a man would want to kill a beautiful creature like this in today's modern world?" ...Michael Scott

"This is a example of how peaceful and how close man and bears can co-exist. There is no need to hunt these bears"

An Article from Natural History Magazine
"For thirty years the wild Alaskan bears that visit McNeil sanctuary have learned to trust the people who watch them. But this fall, despite a public outcry, those bears may be hunted" ....Bill Sherwonit

...As many as 100 brown bears come to the McNeil River Falls every summer to feed on chum salmon.

...to purposely and knowingly kill these habituated animals for trophies is beyond any definition of reasonable ethics or fair chase and, I believe, is morally wrong. I've always envisioned that I'd be at McNeil River until I couldn't physically do it anymore. But I can't continue to remove the bears' only protection - their natural wariness - knowing that even more will soon be exposed to hunting " ...Larry Aumiller

The Grizzly Sanctuary is a conservation minded organization that promotes bear viewing of grizzly bears ( brown bears ) along the coast of Alaska's Katmai National Park. Bear watching is conducted in close proximity to the coastal brown bears by taking a skiff to shore from the anchored bear boat. Families, nature photographers and environmentalists are welcomed to view the numerous brown bears. Fly in for a remote coastal bear tour of the many magnificent grizzly bears from Kodiak Island.  The Grizzly Sanctuary travels the beautiful and rugged shores along the Katmai wilderness coast searching for unique photography of these unforgettable brown bears
