Your last flight ( by float plane ) will take you from Kodiak Island to the location of our bear viewing boat. , which can be located approx 60-100 miles out on the Alaska Peninsula. The distance depends on what bays we are exploring and what bays we are finding the greatest volume of bears.

Your Adventure Begins

Day 1

Your first day officially begins at the float plane dock and once the float plane operator delivers you and your luggage to our anchored boat (typically around noon but can be earlier or a little later depending on weather).

Once you arrive you will be greeted by the staff and shown to your rooms.  Feel free to get unpacked and make yourselves at home. depending on the time of your arrival lunch or afternoon snack  will be prepared and waiting. After everyone has eaten and gotten settled-in we will give a quick orientation on bear etiquette ,  safety, rules and then we will begin scouting for Brown Bears.

The group will load into our roomy bear viewing skiff for a short ride to the shores, rivers or meadows.

Once we have reached land, we will begin looking for bears.  Once bears are located, we will walk within a safe distance determined by the guide set-up and start shooting pictures.

We will continue moving around in search of the best camera angles.  There is no specified amount of time allotted for bear viewing.  It is
the group's decision on how long they'd like to stay depending on weather conditions and bear activity.

Once you return to the boat, snacks and dinner will be prepared.

Your Bear Viewing Continues

DAY 2

Breakfast is usually served at 7:30 - 8 am. Breakfast on board our bear viewing boat typically consists of the following: eggs, bacon, oatmeal, potatoes, French toast, fruit, yogurt, juices, pancakes, cereal, etc…

After breakfast you'll need to spend some time preparing for several hours of bear viewing in the bay.  Use the restroom, pack camera equipment, and make sure you have rain gear if needed.  You might also want to pack a few snacks and some water.

Lunch will be served when the group returns to the boat from the first session of bear viewing this could be anytime from approx. 11:30 to 3:00 pm.

Depending on weather and bear activity, the group may return at various times. After lunch you will be allotted time to relax, use the restroom, repack equipment, change rain gear, etc…

When the group and guide are ready to go back out, we will return to the bay to bear view again.

Dinner and snacks will be served when the group returns.

Continued Bear Viewing

DAY 3 Through DAY 10

These days will again be similar as the first two days of your bear viewing. There may be a day or two where we will up the anchor and travel to a new bay to seek out new photo opportunities or just to give the photographers a new background or in the rare instance the bear viewing has slowed below our expectations.

Departure Day.....your final day bear viewing

The night before your last day with the us, we will inform you of approximately when you'll be departing the next day. This will give you time to make your plans for your final day aboard.  The float plane will arrive to pick you up sometime between 11am - 2 pm, this coincides with the arrival of new guests coming aboard. Which means you will have the opportunity for more bear viewing in the morning before the departure if you so desire and weather permitting!

Breakfast again will be at 7:30-8 am. Pack lightly for a brief trek out to the bay for more bear viewing. The length of your outing will depend on when the float plane will arrive and/or if you are packed and ready to leave. Lunch will be served accordingly. Set aside enough time to exchange contact information with your new found acquaintances.  As you board the float plane to head back to Kodiak Island , new guests will be dropped off for there adventure to begin.
