Grizzly Wars

Spectacular play fighting or a show of dominance?

When bears decide to physically settle their disagreement you are about to witness one thunderous display of power. The Alaskan brown bear exerts brute force like nothing you have ever seen. A blur of lighting quick ten foot dark shadows bending and twisting. Huge rippling shoulder muscle throwing heavy arms and massive paws with 5 inch long claws digging and tearing into the opponents thick hide. These massive carnivore muscle machines hold nothing back as they use their tremendously powerful jaws to deliver lethal damage. You'll hear the sickening sound of clacking teeth and the snapping of jaws biting and ripping into any part of the adversary that is left unguarded. This is everyday life for Alaskan Grizzly bear defending his territory or his right to mate

"The aggressive behavior of two males even at a young age signal a instinctive urge for dominance and the rights for mating."

"The power of grizzlies can kill a full grown bull in
just a few moments"

"Blinding speed and brute force are trademarks
of wild grizzlies"

"Two lone grizzlies patrol the sanctuary. The grizzly senses are extremely keen especially his sense of smell."

For photographers traveling across the globe please be aware that there is no better place for the lens men to have the chance to photograph wild grizzly bears truly in battle over territorial or mating rights than here on the Grizzly Sanctuary. We cannot stress it enough that if the opportunity presents itself be sure to have your long lens ready and increase your shutter speed because your about to witness a picture show you will not soon forget. Please exercise extreme caution and listen to your guide. This photography is extremely dangerous!

in life will become a necessity."
