How To Book Your Bear Viewing Adventure

1.) Welcome to The Grizzly Sanctuary Bear Viewing Adventures. We offer world class bear viewing in Katmai National Park. We invite you to view all the pages on our extensive web site. Please familiarize yourself with as much information as you can about the bear viewing and the seasons of the bears. This will help you select the trip that suits you best.

2.) Due to the ever increasing popularity of bear viewing here at The Grizzly Sanctuary from photographers, nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts from around the world space is at a premium. Please select a first choice in dates of preference and also select a second choice date of travel to avoid any disappointments.

3.) The Grizzly Sanctuary is located in the huge wilderness spans of Katmai National Park. We travel the coastal shores along the Alaskan Peninsula moving in and out of secluded bays and searching the many rivers and massive meadows for the big bears of Alaska. Our season starts in early June and ends in middle September. All our tour dates are excellent for viewing the brown bears. However, some dates offer a difference in weather patterns, temperatures, bear activity and location as they feed in the sedge grass, tidal flats and salmon streams.

2008 / 2009 BEAR VIEWING TOUR RATES ( PER PERSON )

1.) PACKAGE # 1....( 4 days / 3 nights )......$ 3,295.00 - $ 3,750.00  (2009 prices to be announced)
2.) PACKAGE # 2....( 6 days / 5 nights ) .....$ 4,995.00 - $ 5,495.00  (2009 prices to be announced)
3.) PACKAGE # 3....( 8 days / 7 nights ) .....$ 6,495.00 - $ 6,995.00  (2009 prices to be announced)
4.) Ultimate bear lovers package...( 10-12 day / 9 or 11 nights ) $ 8,295.00 - $10,495.00  ( 2009 prices to be announced ). Please note some of these rates include your float plane flight to the boat and return. All meals and accommodations while on board. includes all guide from a world class guide and skiffs to shore etc.

Please note: Longer stays here at The Grizzly Sanctuary are available and can be arranged upon request.

Air services are available to our stationed bear viewing boat anchored on the Katmai coast from the cities of Homer, Kodiak and King Salmon. DEPOSIT / CANCELLATION POLICY:

Due to the popularity of The Grizzly Sanctuary bear viewing adventures and because we have less than a 4 month season it is not uncommon for us to book 1-3 years in advance. To avoid disappointment and to assure you the best dates we require a 50% deposit at the time of your reservation. Upon receipt of your deposit you will receive confirmation of your selected tour dates.

Cancellations must be made 150-180 days in advance of your selected departure date in order to receive a partial refund of your deposit. There will be a fee of $750.00 per person for cancellations to cover handling, paper work, phone and bank fees. Payments can be made with cash, check, traveler's check or credit card ( Master Card or Visa ), with total payment for your tour to be paid in full prior to your departure. Credit card payments will have an additional 3% of the total fare added on to your tour rate to cover card and bank fees. ***( Please note ) In case of "weather days/delays" occurring beyond our control ( these are days when the float plane cannot fly due to high winds, fog, rain etc. to pick you up and transport you back to land based location. )  The Grizzly Sanctuary has the right to charge you up to $750.00 per day for continued ongoing tour services.
